Bob Lanphere Sr. and his son Bob Junior learned about performance the hard way. In the 1960's Bob made his name as a winning motorcycle racer. He worked until he crossed the finish line ahead of the pack. His love for motorcycles turned into a desire to open his own motorcycle store. That was just the beginning. Today he and Bob Junior work harder than ever to please their customers selling cars, boats, watercraft and motorcycles.
The network of dealerships began in 1964 with Beaverton Honda, the motorcycle store. The network now includes Beaverton Honda, Beaverton Chrysler, Beaverton Infiniti, Beaverton Kia, Newberg Dodge-Jeep-Chrysler and the motorcycle store is Beaverton Honda-Yamaha which sells motorcycles, Honda Power equipment, Sea Doo watercraft and boats, Yamaha watercraft and boats, Rinker boats, ATV's and is the largest accessory store in the Pacific Northwest. In 1990 that network expanded into Washington with Renton Honda Automobiles which opened on Grady Way in Renton. The old RMC motorcycle store is the home of the Kia showroom.
In October of 2003, Bob Lanphere's Renton Motorcycles opened its door's at the new location, 3701 East Valley Road, in Renton. Imagine over a 120,000 square foot building housing not only a state-of-the-art motor sports store, but a full restaurant, named Mick Kelly's at the Full Throttle, as well.
This is definitely one of the largest motor sports stores in the region with all of the inventory residing inside. Each of the four walls is color coordinated to match manufacturer colors. A number of vintage bikes, many restored by Bob Lanphere senior can be seen on the mezzanine. The store also boasts two huge conference rooms which are available for rider training courses and rider clubs.
The parts and service departments are second to none. Factory trained technicians staff the service department 5 days a week. With two lifts per technician, you'll receive quick service while you wait. A unique feature offered to their customers is the Dyno room for performance tuning your vehicle.
